Kilt Measurement Guide

Please measure before ordering. Kilt sizing is not the same as your normal trouser or jeans size.

1. Waist

Measure around your natural kilt waist, around the navel area rather than where you normally wear your trousers.

Keep the measuring tape comfortably firm and level around your body. Do not pull it too tightly.

Do not simply order your normal trouser waist size.

2. Hip

Measure around the widest part of your hips and seat.

Keep your feet together and make sure the measuring tape remains level.

3. Kilt Length / Drop

Measure from your natural waist at the navel down to approximately the middle of the knee.

The standard drop for this kilt is 24 inches.

For the most accurate measurement, stand naturally and ask another person to take the measurement if possible.

Important Sizing Information

Please check your measurements carefully before selecting your size.

A traditional kilt is normally worn higher than trousers, so your kilt waist measurement may be larger than the trouser size you usually purchase.

Care

To help maintain the shape, pleats and appearance of your kilt, follow the care instructions supplied with the garment. Store the kilt carefully and avoid unnecessary machine washing or tumble drying.
